Welcome to Shakalista, where every piece carries the spirit of the Nile and the soul of Egypt.
The story of Shakalista began long before the brand was born — it started with my father, Ahmed, known by everyone as Shakal.
He was born in Luxor, on the banks of the Nile, where life moves with the rhythm of the river. Since childhood, he was fascinated by the boats that sailed its waters. As he grew up, he became a boat captain, sailing between Luxor and Aswan, carrying travelers and treasures — and meeting people from all around the world.
Through his journeys, he saw how the world admired Egypt — its beauty, its art, its timeless spirit.
His path took him beyond borders: to Switzerland, Spain, the U.S., and Mexico, where he worked for many years with a renowned Mexican painter, connecting artists and collectors who shared the same love for authentic art. Even then, he carried a piece of Egypt with him — selling papyrus and alabaster made by local craftsmen from his hometown.
Shakalista was created as a tribute to that spirit — to my father’s legacy and to the river that shaped him.
Our vision is to carry the essence of Egyptian craftsmanship from the banks of the Nile to the world — blending heritage, beauty, and artistry into every piece we offer.
At Shakalista, you don’t just buy an item; you become part of a story — one that began on a boat on the Nile and continues through every handmade creation that leaves our hands.
